Land Stewardship

"The land ethic simply enlarges the boundaries of the community to include soils, waters, plants, and animals, or collectively: the land...

In short, a land ethic changes the role of Homo sapiens from conqueror of the land-community to plain member and citizen of it. It implies respect for his fellow members, and also respect for the community as such."

Aldo Leopold – Sand County Almanac

Boothbay Region Land Trust is responsible for managing over 1,700 acres of fields, forests, meadows, and wetlands in the Boothbay Region.  This includes a 30+ mile trail system, 2 working waterfront sites and boating access at 6 islands.

BRLT relies upon many volunteers each year who donate their time and energy to help care for the preserves. Work parties are a great way to get outside, have fun, and meet new people.

Help us out with preserve maintenance on your own, or join us for an upcoming stewardship event, by contacting BRLT Land Steward Jonathan Milne by e-mail or (207) 633-4818.
