Become a BRLT Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of the Boothbay Region Land Trust. Our mission is met in part through the dedication of our hundreds of volunteers.

Volunteering is a great way to learn more about BRLT, meet other members, support our environment and to actively engage in preserving the special places of the Boothbay region.

If you would like to volunteer:

email brlt@bbrlt.org

call (207)633-4818

or stop in the office, 137 Townsend Avenue

We want to know what your interests are!

  • Events - There are many jobs to fill in planning and executing fundraisers held each year, such as the Boat Builder's Festival.
  • Mailings - Several times a year we get together to fold/stuff envelopes and mail the BRLT newsletters.  Of course snacks and gossip are always included!
  • Nature Guide/Hike Leader - Volunteers are always in demand to provide leadership for the hikes offered free of charge to the general public year ‘round. If you have knowledge of the area’s history or special expertise of the flora or fauna, this is for you.
  • Office Help - With only four staff members there is plenty of work for the volunteer corps who assist a few hours a week to answer phones, greet and provide information to visitors, make photocopies, take reservations for special events, write thank you notes, sell BRLT merchandise, and anything that helps the office run more smoothly.
  • Outreach and Osprey Store - Represent BRLT and sell BRLT merchandise at community events.
  • Special Projects - Join the staff to assist in completing a special project, typically at BRLT office headquarters.
  • Stewardship - Become a steward for your favorite preserve or sign up to help with trail maintenance and lands upkeep.
